Governance

The Cascade is overseen by the Cascade Journalism Society (CJS), whose members include all UFV students who pay student fees. As a registered non-profit society, the CJS is governed by a board of directors who ensure that The Cascade is achieving its goals and operating in a fiscally and legally responsible way. Members vote new directors onto the board during our annual general meeting.

Interested in joining the board?

By participating in the Annual General Meeting (AGM), you have the opportunity to vote on issues that will not only shape The Cascade’s future, but is also an investment in your own experience.

To sweeten the deal, we’ll also have a variety of free snacks available at the end of the meeting, providing a tasty reward for your participation. Attending our AGM also comes with the opportunity to join The Cascade’s governing board, which comes with fantastic perks that benefit UFV students, like early registration in the Summer and Fall 2024 semesters to secure your preferred courses, and discounted student parking.

Join us at the AGM to make your mark, and consider becoming a long-term member, ensuring your continued influence in the UFV community for years to come.
