On his qualifications for the position

“I believe I should be elected because I’m young, eager to learn. And I really want to help people with disabilities such as myself. We need to be out there, we need to be letting them know that there’s things that can be done, that can be done to help them. Students deserve to have someone that will listen to them and help them. I’ve only just started so I plan to be at UFV for the long run. ”

On accessibility issues at UFV

“Down by the drop off, you have to go around the building before there’s one to even get into the school. There should be a ramp right at the drop off so that the people that just drop off can drop off rather than having to park.

“Also when the new [Student Union Building] is built, [Renaerts] is right, it should be built with accessibility in mind. Building doorways should be wider, classrooms should have, if there’s any stages or anything, a ramp going up to it. Also the width of the classroom itself should be made so that a wheelchair can go in with a table set up so that it doesn’t get stuck.

“Mehtab is right about getting the assessments redone. To redo it is just way too much money. There are programs in high school that allow you to get it, should we do that in university as well?”

Concluding remarks
“I think that the representatives have a very big responsibility. We need to be out there, and we need to be working and doing things. And I plan to do that and I’d be very good at it. Vote for me.”
