Last week, I was stressing out about deadlines. Everything snuck up on me (as it does at the end of the semester), and I was overwhelmed and unprepared. Not only that, but I planned a vacation that began 14 hours after my last class ended, so the pressure was on to finish everything on time and get ready for said vacation. Needless to say, I was freaking out.

As an avid procrastinator, I did what I do best — I closed my laptop, grabbed my keys, and went for a drive. And I’m glad I did, because as I was driving, I saw a perfect rainbow — not some half-assed one — that stretched from one edge of the earth to the other. The pure joy I felt reminded me that life isn’t all about deadlines and being busy. You have to step back and enjoy the simple things, too.
