Kiara Okonkwo is a writer and creative. She received a diploma in Screenwriting from Vancouver Film School and is pursuing her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Creative Writing and Media and Communication Studies. Kiara values self-expression and authenticity.
Gabriela is the Creative Director for The Cascade. With a degree in digital illustration, besides a tattoo artist, pursuing a BFA in Graphic Design. In her free time, she's a coffee addict who devours books and enjoys drawing people living the wildlife.

Catherine is a writer, editor, and all around book lover who holds a dual BA in psychology and creative writing, as well as graduate degrees in teaching and art therapy. As if that wasn’t enough, she’s now back at UFV studying library science and visual art. If she’s not writing or reading, Catherine can be found gardening, baking cakes, or getting lost in the woods.

Cassie is an English student working towards her Bachelor’s degree and eventually a career in editing after graduation. She loves coffee, writing and reading in her spare time, going to concerts, seeing friends, and travelling whenever she can.
Rachel is working towards a BA with a concentration in English and Theatre. She has been employed at The Cascade since Fall 2021 as a Staff Writer and a Jr. News Editor. Currently, she is the sectional News Editor and enjoys meeting and interviewing people as well as taking long walks in nature. Rachel also likes to stay up to date on the latest trends and informs students through her fashion column entitled Campus Fashion.
Hello, I’m Gauri Sethi, a passionate staff writer at the Cascade responsible for writing content that resonates with the masses. Currently, I am pursuing business administration, but deep down, I am a person who loves expressing herself through writing.
Veronica is a Staff Writer at The Cascade. She loves to travel and explore new places, no matter how big or small. She is in her second year at UFV, pursuing the study of Creative Writing.

My therapist said writing is my coping mechanism, which is true. I write the best when I am having a life crisis (always). Writing has been a safe space since before I was a teenager and I am here to learn and produce pieces that hold value for not just me but others. I hope I am able to write something that brings a smile to someone’s face. I am currently in the second year of my BBA which feels like it will take forever to end
Fabiola is a student in the Bachelor of Environmental Studies, who is passionate about conservation and has joined The Cascade staff to share about the natural world with the student community. When she is not hiking trying to identify local species or looking for cool rocks, you can find her on campus reading a book or her friend’s tarot cards.

Sherryl is The Production Manager of The Cascades newspaper, mostly responsible for creating the layout of the newspaper and sometimes the main features. She is currently in my 2nd year pursuing a BFA with a Graphic Design Major.
Eseniia is the Feature & Cover Designer. She is passionate about art and design, currently pursuing her Graphic and Digital Design Diploma. For more than 2 years Eseniia has been developing her barista and latte art skills, while in her free time she enjoys yoga and vinyl records.

Natasha Zilcosky, currently 20 years old is a Traditional, Digital, and Textile Artist, Cosplayer and Seamstress. She is studying for her Bachelor Of Fine Arts, majoring in Visual Arts and minoring Graphic and Digital Design with a focus in Art History! As a Small Business Owner, Digital Creator and Art Teacher, Natasha hopes to bring her skills to The Cascade!Â
