Esther Allison and Charley Arnold join the Cascades as they train for the 2021-22 season
With next year’s campaign potentially 10 months away due to COVID-19 and the restrictions that have been placed on sports, the Cascades have time to develop a new and improved version of themselves. They have started off the year doing just that by signing two new players: Esther Allison from Langley and Charley Arnold from Edmonton.
Allison, a multi-sport athlete, could help the Cascades with size and depth, as she stands at 5’11 and joins a team with multiple solid forwards. Coming from a career complete with championships and medals at Credo Christian High School, Allison brings some high-level playoff experience to the Cascades.
Arnold joins UFV from a decorated high school career at Mother Margaret Mary High School, having won three straight girls basketball MVPs before her senior season. She joins a very talented roster of guards at UFV that should benefit majorly from adding another starting-caliber guard.
The Cascades await the decision by the provincial government on Feb. 5 regarding COVID-19 protocols before beginning any full-team scrimmages or games with other schools.
