Let’s get physical

What do you do when the Wi-Fi is down? Go for a walk? Read a book? Laugh maniacally at your failing router while turning on your phone’s data? While these are all valid options, there’s another one that’s worth considering, as long as you don’t mind rewinding the clock. Grab a deck of cards and a flat surface — we’re playing solitaire.

You might have played solitaire on your desktop before, but nothing compares to shuffling the deck with your own two hands. Trust me, there’s something about winning your first physical game that’s even more satisfying than playing through a screen. Since you can’t ask for a hint if you get stuck, it’s also a great way to exercise cognitive skills like problem solving and memorization.

Don’t know how to set it up yourself? No worries, it’s not cheating to look up a quick tutorial. Now you’re ready to pass the time until your router decides to let you back into the 21st century.
