Fort Langley is getting a new music and art festival this summer. Summerset Music and Arts Festival is taking over the Fort Langley National Historic Site for three days this Labour Day weekend, August 30 to September 1.
The festival, presented by the Trading Post Brewery and Red Door Events, brands itself as three days, three different genres, one unforgettable experience. It will include a variety of musical guests performing sets throughout the day, as well as art installations and activities put together by the organizers.
The Summerset Music and Arts Festival kicks off on Friday with performances by Rival Sons, The Trews, and Jesse Roper. Saturday follows with performances by April Wine, Kim Mitchell, The Matinée, and JP Maurice. Sunday closes the festival with performances by Paul Brandt, The Washboard Union, Kadooh, and The Wild North. The lineup offers country, rock, and roots genres from Canadian and west coast artists with hopes that the multi-genre approach will give all guests something to enjoy.
Summerset will have a variety of food and beverage options for guests attending the festival. A variety of food trucks and local vendors will be on site, giving guests an assortment of options. Vegan and international cuisine options will be included. As for alcoholic beverages, there will be a selection of local craft beer, wine, and cider.
Tickets are required to get into Summerset, and there are no ins and outs permitted once you have entered each day. Ticket prices begin at $59 for general admission day passes, or $189 for a general admission weekend passes. There are two levels of VIP passes, $139 for regular VIP and $219 for VVIP. The VIP passes include private entrances, a shaded seating area, and a private food and drink area. VVIP tickets are available for Saturday and Sunday, and include reserved seating in one of the front five rows, as well as access to the VIP shaded lounge and the other VIP perks. Children under the age of eight get in for free with a paying adult.
There are some guidelines festival attendees need to take into consideration before arriving at Summerset. Guests are allowed to bring their own lawn chair for seating, blankets, small backpacks, and strollers. The event is for all ages, with stroller parking and nursing stations available for parents. Security measures will be in place, with all guests being subject to search prior to entry. If guests want to consume alcohol, they should bring two pieces of I.D., with at least one of them being photo I.D. Only service animals are allowed on the grounds.
The event will be running from 4 – 10:30 p.m. all three days, beginning Friday, August 30, and ending on Sunday, September 1.
