UFV’s beverage container recycling program is a combination of sustainability and community. Returnable beverage containers can be deposited into designated beverage recycling containers on campus (the big, blue, round bins) that are emptied weekly by a recycling collection business that is run and operated by people with special needs, who then collect 100 per cent of the proceeds. Please remember to recycle your returnables.
Each and every time you donate you are supporting the reduction of waste, our community spirit and the recycling program at UFV.
The big, blue, round bins do not accept: tin food cans, milk containers, plastic drink cups or garbage. Please ensure your containers are empty; it helps reduce smell and weight for the people servicing the bins!
The bins accept any container that has a deposit, such as juice boxes, water bottles and pop cans.
Many thanks for your support. Any questions regarding the program can be directed to the sustainability coordinator on campus, Sheena Adams. sheena.adams@ufv.ca
