Dentist doubts
Dear Robin,
Unfortunately, I’m experiencing some tooth pain. And since I’ve been a student at UFV for the past couple of years, I haven’t gone for my regular checkups because, well, money’s tight. Anyway, I’m terrified of going to the dentist because they’ll probably have to do a ton of work, and it will cost way too much. What should I do? Is there any way to deal with my tooth pain without shelling out millions of dollars?
Sincerely,
Toothed
Hello,
You’re not in that boat alone. I didn’t go to the dentist for ages because I couldn’t pay the rest of the expenses out of pocket, but once my mouth hurt so bad I couldn’t sleep anymore, I knew it was time to go. With UFV dental coverage included, I still had to pay $1,300 for the root canal, and I’m still recovering financially after that hit. I hate to say it, but sometimes, in the name of health, you have to give in to the system and just pay it. Some helpful tips to gather the money would be to start a GoFundMe, live in your van, avoid all cosmetic services for as long as possible (this is to those who get their lashes, hair, and nails done on the regular), and figure out how to sell your blood.

Dull days
Dear Robin,
I’m feeling tired of staying at home constantly because of the lockdown regulations. I want to do something. Any ideas for interesting things to do in the Fraser Valley right now?
Sincerely,
Lockdown loner
Hello,
Guess what? You’re not the only one feeling this way. And guess what else? You should NOT be searching for fun things to do outside your house. It’s not the time. So how about I recommend fun things to do inside instead for the sake of our community’s health. 1. Experiment with a new cocktail recipe. 2. Go to an online museum. Just Google it and tons of results will be provided. 3. Discover a new muscle to work out if you’re into that stuff. 4. Read a book that doesn’t suck. 5. Text your friends because they all think you hate them because you haven’t contacted them in months. 6. Do some schoolwork for once. 7. Play Animal Crossing again; your neighbours miss you.
