Putting the SUB in Subway

The closure of the Canoe restaurant was announced a couple weeks ago, and it has me thinking: are we FINALLY going to have a Subway restaurant in the Student Union Building? Back in 2015, when the building was near completed, there was a rumour that a Subway would be opening. It obviously never happened, and yet we still see their advertisements near one of the entrances. Who wouldn’t want a building smelling of freshly-baked cookies and bread? It’d be pretty enticing, and probably drive more sales if SUS leased the area to a well-known restaurant, rather than making us, the students, pay for another Canoe or Finnegan’s-type menu.
