Scarves will definitely be an essential as the cold front rolls in this year. And if you’ve looked around UFV, you’ll see students have already adapted to the idea of these woolly neck-warmers. In fact, some of them are wearing them around campus as if they have been conveniently sewn into their jackets. There are many different ways to wear a scarf, so I’ve come up with some dos and don’ts that go along with them.
Do: Layer more than one scarf to add more color and depth to the wrap.
Do: Go chunky.
Do: Try different colors, patterns, and textures.
Do: Get a circle scarf, because they’re fun.
Do: Wear it on your head, but only if you really have to.
Do: Let it just hang; draping the right scarf can be the best statement.
Don’t: Wrap you’re scarf around your waist; it’s not a belt, and you’re not a pirate.
Don’t: Wear a scarf every day; it’s an accessory, not a uniform.
Don’t: Try to knot your scarf European-style, also known as the classic fish knot (it’s not attractive).
Don’t: Let the bulk of your scarf outshine you.
