Is it weird to look forward to the new course schedule getting posted like it’s Christmas morning? I spent the weeks leading up to the end of October eagerly anticipating the timetable’s release, even going so far as to look at the archives of the past few years to get an idea of what might be on offer.

Then, in the weeks since it was announced, studied in-depth the courses on offer that interest me, like I used to delve into a Toys-R-Us catalogue to make a list of all the things I’d like for Christmas. I research the different professor options, and figure out how they fit into my overall plan for the remainder of my program.

If nothing else, I did manage to fight off the urge to update my Google calendar with a schedule for the winter semester before I’ve even registered. But, I know that when my registration day arrives, I’m setting my alarm so that I can be awake and alert the minute I’m able to register. Maybe I should leave out some milk and cookies overnight, just to make sure Registration Santa is good to me, and saves a spot in the classes I want.
