It will be worth it… it will be worth it

In my childhood, I was fortunate to lay back and let my parents do all the heavy lifting when it came to planning vacations. All I had to do was pack, show up, and have a blast. Recently, I was involved in the planning of a vacation with my family for the first time. I was ecstatic, but the research began and it wasn’t the beach-day breeze I expected it to be.

Planning a vacation with my family made me want to travel alone. Don’t get me wrong; it’s much more enjoyable to travel with the ones you love, but the complications of navigating people’s opinions, wants, and needs on what is best to book was not on my bucket list. Neither was decoding sources for reliability and arranging costs.

Being an adult has its advantages, but travelling as one requires more responsibility and patience I didn’t know I needed. It can be a complicated and discouraging process, but I know all the pre-trip hurdles will be worth it when I get to see the world. But for the future, I think I’ll invest in a good travel agent.
