On his qualifications for the position

“I’m running for clubs and associations representative because nobody else wants to do it, and I’m better than nothing.”

On what he hopes to accomplish

“I imagine most of my time will just be spent … [making] sure all the paperwork that comes through our doors is filled out properly [for clubs and associations].”

On standing up for his opinions

“Just because I’m friends with just about everyone [on SUS] doesn’t mean I necessarily agree with them on everything — I think Chris [Doyle] can attest to that. I just don’t think that [getting] along with people and [hanging] out with them in our personal time means I agree with them politically. If anything, I think that’s one thing friends should talk about.”

On reaching out to the student body

“This might be an unpopular opinion, but I don’t think posters work. We’re all conditioned to ignore them. We just have to get out there more … people don’t know what SUS is. We just need to go out there and show them… one idea, that I heard was that one student union did one day a week where they did their office hours outside. I know with our weather, that might be a little unfeasible, but I think the basic idea of doing out-of-office office hours is an admirable one.”

On dessert

“Ice cream cake. It’s the clear winner.”
