Declining dilemmas

Dear Robin,

My buddy is being pretty pushy when it comes to hanging out with me. And since we’re not supposed to be engaging in social activities outside of our immediate household, we really shouldn’t be spending time together in person, and I don’t know how to tell him no. Any tips for how to say no?

Sincerely,

Distant Dormie

Hello,

Some people really don’t understand this whole thing in B.C. about not hanging out with people you don’t live with; we have clear evidence of that with the high number of new COVID-19 cases every day. It’s important that you blame Dr. Henry for not being able to/not wanting to hang out with your pal. Let your bestie know that it’s not them, it’s not you, it’s Dr. Bonnie Henry. Also feel free to throw in some facts about the devastating effects of the virus and more ideas on how to be a socially responsible human being in these times. Whatever works.

Online shopping

Dear Robin,

I’ve gained a bit of weight during the COVID-19 times and could use a new bra. How do I purchase a bra online and ensure I select the correct sizing?

Sincerely,

Struggling with Sizing

Hello,

Sorry, I’m a bit confused; you need a bra… for staying at home all the time and doing school online? I don’t quite understand why you need one. But if you insist, I recommend forgoing underwires and cups and total uncomfortability: embrace the bralette. Get a padded one if you want. They come in T-shirt sizes, so there’s no confusion with band sizes and all of that nonsense. If the bralette doesn’t work, wear a couple layers of sweaters to hold everything in place.
