By Paul Esau (The Cascade) – Email

Dear readers,

Welcome to the last issue of The Cascade for the 2010/2011 school year (if I may still call it that). It’s been a long year, a tough year, a challenging yet utterly fantastic run for those of us here at your student newspaper, and we’d like to thank all of you out there for your support and your readership. We couldn’t have done it without you!

No, I mean literally. You bank-roll us after all, so when I say we couldn’t have done it without you I mean it. I humbly thank you for your trust and monetary contribution, and I hope that, as The Cascade continues to grow and improve, you can be increasingly proud of your investment.

I would like to announce a number of Cascaders who have finished their time at UFV and are ready to move on into a bright and shining future. These individuals have given inestimable amounts of time and effort to the cause, and deserve a few morsels of appreciation for their contributions. Without them, this newspaper would be a shadow of what it is today.

Nothing and nobody last forever, even if here at The Cascade we wish we could clone these individuals and thereby keep all their skills within the establishment.  May they go on to do great things, improve the world, and perhaps become filthy rich.  May thay find love, happiness, and everything in the middle.  I give you…
