I’m sure many great scientific discoveries are made by accident. I’m not sure this is one of those, but it made for a great show. The play is called The Man Who Ate Einstein’s Brain but in many ways it’s about the man who’s going to take the fall for it, and the slippery slope of what should be done in the name of science — or rather, in the name of a scientist’s reputation. One of the things that impressed me about this play was the blocking. Often in the studio I find myself spending some time staring at actors’ backs or a quarter of their faces, but the set was arranged well and actors used the stage effectively. As for the acting itself, prepare to laugh. Line after line of comedy, a bubbling pipe at just the right moment, and smooth flow of action had me grinning for most of the performance. Go for the laughs, stay for the violin, and leave before Elise comes out.
